The Current Global Order: The Wars in Ukraine and Gaza

Prof. Dr. Yan Xuetong 阎学通, University Distinguished Professor at Tsinghua University, is an internationally renowned political scientist and one of China’s most prominent foreign policy experts. He serves as Dean of The Institute of International Studies at Tsinghua University and chief editor of The Chinese Journal of International Politics. He obtained his Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley in 1992 and was named as one of world’s Top 100 public intellectuals by the American journal Foreign Policy in 2008. He has been listed in Most Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier since 2014. His two books in English Ancient Chinese Thought, Modern Chinese Power (2011) and Leadership and the Rise of Great Powers (2019) were published by Princeton University Press.

Prof. Dr. Hajo Funke is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the Otto Suhr Institute of Freie Universität Berlin. His research focus includes politics and culture, right-wing extremism and right-wing populism, and conflicts in the Middle East.
